Need laundry advice
Here's the deal. I have two lovley ds at home. 8 mo into my third and final pregnancy, I have found out that I am going to have a girl. This brought TONS of baby girl clothes flowing in since it seems everyone has been having boys the last few years. At any rate, some of these clothes have really bad formula stains on them. i have been using the soaking solution from the Tighwad Gazette (gotta love that book), but it has not worked on everything. Does anyone else have any ideas? Some of these clothes are in near perfect condition other than a stain or two and I would hate to throw them out. Thanks for your time

Target makes their own brand of baby laundry detergent (powder). I found this to work on stains. Just soak in warm water and the Target detergent, then launder. You could also try Oxyclean.

Hi Audpodge!
I received alot of girl clothes too when we found out we were having a girl. I soaked everything in warm water with my laundry detergent and OxiClean for at least 30 minutes, then I ran them through a regular wash cycle. The clothes went back to my girlfriend cleaner than when she gave them to me. Her cousin was next in line to get them so she was a happy camper as I'd done all the work for her.

Oxiclean is pretty awesome. Before I started using that, I used to put a cup of powder dishwasher detergent in with the laundry, along with my regular detergent (don't worry, it won't oversuds- but I do recommend using warm or hot water since it doesn't dissolve to well in cold). I read about that on another money saving web site and it really does work well.

I always had success using a mixture of Shout and my luandry detergent (All Free Clear) - I would combine equal parts in a small cup and apply to the stained areas with an old toothbrush. Let the items set for about 5 minutes before laundering.
