Need laundry help
My dd spilled some gasoline on her clothes when she put gas in her car the other day and I can't get the smell out. So far I have washed them in Purex, Tide, put vinegar in the rinse cycle, and even washed them in pine cleaner. Nothing has worked. Does anyone know how I can get this smell out of her clothes?

Was thinking of letting it soak overnight in a high volume baking soda/water ratio to deodorize it. And washing with a citrusy smelling soap? Maybe even Sunlight? Then I surfed and found this...Hope this helps!

Getting rid of odor
Q: My son had some gasoline spill on his clothes. What is a good way to get it out? Ihave washed them two or three times and can still smell the odor. I would really appreciate it if you could find an answer and put it in the paper. Thank you.
A: The gasoline odor in clothing is a common problem.Long after the gasoline is gone, the odor remains, said Lois Heckert, program specialist with Families Extension Answer Line, Iowa State University Extension. Rewash and air dry clothing repeatedly until odor goes away. Adding a cup of baking soda with detergent and allowing to agitate briefly before adding clothing to washing machine may act as a deodorant.

Thanks for the quick responses. I'm going to try some of those hints and with any luck get that smell out of her clothes.

My exH was a mechanic. Put a can of cola in with the laundry soap. This should do the trick.
