I always use cold water. . .except for whites. I use hot water for whites because I use Oxyclean and it works better with hotter water.

I usually wash all of our clothes in cold water. I use the liquid soap from Aldis and put things like towels, sheets, underwear, and socks in the drier. I suppose the socks could be whiter, but then I could throw in some bleach once in a while, too. We're pretty casual with our clothes. We don't look like slobs or anything, but we just don't obsess over that area!

Call me a germophobe, lol, but I have to wash whites and towels/sheets in hot. Everything else I wash in cold.
