Putting baking soda in the wash

It really works! When DH uses his snowblower his clothes smell like gasoline. I throw them in the wash with baking soda and the smell is all gone.

I never thought about it, but that makes sense! I use it on my carpets and furniture to freshen it up (just sprinkle on...let sit for an hour or so, then vacuum up), so why not on my clothes?

I buy the commercial size at Sam's Club and add it to my wash. It really helps with stains and smells. I also use less detergent.
