iida, I LOVE the yellow ones. They are gorgeous. The socks are beautiful too...what is the pattern?

CJ, your mittens are fantastic! The first pair I tried to make, I didn't even get past the thumb gusset. I gave up lol. I love the color you chose too.

I have only been knitting on ds's blanket. I want to get it DONE! It's 28" long now and the second skein of yarn is halfway used. I'm gonna keep going until the skein is gone and then it's done.

homesteadmama---I've been knitting for 44 years, and I've never even TRIED mittens. I'm chicken about the thumbs. And the idea of gloves makes me feel nauseous. I'm just so sure I'll mess up. Those are fabulous!

I am past the heel and halfway or more through the foot of dh's first sock.

I am supposed to re-do the wrist and ankle hems of some PJ's for BIL, and I am SOOOOOOO loathe to put down my knitting and do that! I hate altering clothing! Ugh!

It is the easiest pattern, but how do I explain it in English. You knit two rows normal right stiches and two rows two stiches right and two stiches purl. And then alternate these two. Does this make any sense?

Whew! It only took 5 hours, but I finished BIL's PJ's and drove over there and dropped them off. They are satin (weird, I know, but he is disabled and the satin makes it easier for him to turn himself over at night) and it frays easily, so picking it apart with a seam ripper and tiny scissors was a bit time consuming. The wrist cuffs were tailored-like, and had to be sewn back on overlapping inside and outside with tiny careful stitching. But--it's done, and he will be happy.

Now I can get back to my socks.

knitnmom: Do we get to see a picture of it? I love scrappy stuff. Somehow when you're limited in supplies/materials it awakens the creative soul in a person. What have you got?

I spent the last couple of days sorting through unfinished projects and pulling them together. I made a list and prioritized the projects. So I'm working on Christmas linens when I'm out places, and knitting a sweater for myself. And when I'm home I'm working on sewing for a friend and scrapbooking for DSIS#1. Gotta get a few things done!

Cleaned off my ironing board (yep, it was piled deep in stuff too) and put buttonholes in a blouse for a friend. Just need to sew on the buttons and that project will be finished!

Worked the last couple of nights on DS's scarf. Over half done.

Did I tell you guys that now that I have finally gotten around to knitting his scarf, he has gotten himself ito FL State U. for grad school?? LOL! He will not be needing that scarf for at least the next two years. But, FSU was his first pick.

Ah, well. I will hang it on the coat rack by the front door here at home, so he can use it if he comes home in winter.

I finished a needlecase for a group I'm involved in. I have several of these to do. I think I'll pick simpler patterns for the next ones.

I worked on Christmas linens yesterday. I finished 3 bun holders.

I worked on my Easter wallhanging. One corner wasn't laying flat, so I unpicked it. Will sew it back up when I have time...not today.

I sewed all the buttons on my friend's blouse and then laughed at myself. I'd forgotten to sew the buttonholes on the cuffs! LOL
