February 2009 Needle Arts Challenge
Only a few days of January left, so time to start thinking of February's challenge!
I am going to make this one easy for you. I thought about Valentine's Day and President's Day, and nothing really jumped out at me. Then I realized that the reason nothing was jumping out at me was because I had a bunch of unfinished projects tucked away all over the place that still needed doing, and I felt guilty starting somthing new when I still had so many things to complete!
So February's challenge is to finish that hairy project that you keep putting off "for next month." This is the month! "Get 'er done!" as someone famous once said.
As usual, those anti-social non-conformists among you can continue to do whatever you want, and need not feel bound by the limits of this month's challenge.

I don't know what I am going to do for February yet. I have a lap quilt to finish, a baby afghan to finish, a scarf to finish. I might just try and get those all done as once March hits, hopefully the temp will be about 30F out so I can start doing things outside.

My unfinished projects include the demon latch hook rug (wow, did I not know what I was taking on with THAT thing) and a blanket I'm trying to crochet (sc only because that is the only "stitch" I know) for my king-sized bed. Not sure which I'm dreading more....

Single crochet bedspread! Yes, that would be alot of work but I bet it will be gorgeous when you are done and very, very warm!!! I love sc (even though it takes more effort), I find that there is nothing warmer (especially bedspreads, throws, scarves). Show a pic when you get it done!!!.....lol

Hmmmmm...
Sometimes choosing the challenge is the biggest of all! Lets see. I've got a crochet lap blanket that I've kindof lost interest in. I'll challenge myself to get some serious progress on that one at least. I'd also like to finish my lacy scarf and finish another couple of pieces for my mom's afghan. A friend of mine just found out she's pregnant - so I hope to also DECIDE on a project and get started. She's due in August, so I've got plenty of time!
So, that's 1 project to finish, 2 projects to make serious progress on, and 1 project to get started.

This challenge is right up my alley. I am the queen of unfinished works in progress. I don't mean to do it, but I always do.
So I challenge myself to finish some of what I start. I am going to list my WIP here. I plan on finish at least one large project and a couple small ones.
The list:
- Crocheted baby afghan - the baby is now 4 months old and I started this project in April.
- A crocheted afghan for my mom - I have working on this one for a long time. It keeps getting put on the back burner. I would really like this one to be done by the time my folks move into their new house this spring. It would be a great house warming gift.
- A knitted scarf - I really wanted this one to be done before Christmas.
- A few small crochet projects for around the house.
