Today I went with my mom to the local yarn shop here and spent my ENTIRE $50. Hehehe. I bought some chunky yarn to use with my huge needles. I'm thinking I'll make a bulky shawl. Also got some sock/sport weight alpaca for all kinds of things - so soft, so excited! And, got some kidsilk haze just because I want to try my hand at lace, and I'd never buy it for myself.
Still sewing buttons on my sister's sweater...

I got four skeins of sock yarn, 6 skeins of cotton blend yarn, and a $50 gc to The Loopy Ewe. I can't decide if I want to buy lace weight, sock yarn, or worsted weight for a sweater. I don't even know if I have enough $ for the yardage I would need for a sweater.

Love to hear you all talk about the different yarns - it's a whole new world out there. Cannot wait to see pictures of your new creations using all of these wonderful sounding yarns!!
Since I cannot find any Christmas colored yarns here on Maui for my dishcloths and scrubbies for next year's gifts - I ordered it online. I'm finishingup the ones I am making for the Easter baskets for this year!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Finally finished putting buttons on my sister's sweater. The thing is DONE!! Blocked the button bands last night, and it looks great. The buttons seem a bit uneven, but they match the buttonholes perfectly, and the buttonholes were evenly spaced among the stitches. Meh.

Never thought of eBay - mustn't think of it again. Must be frugal - frugal can be fun too!!

I cast on the Citron shawl from the most recent Knitty a few days before Christmas. I'm doing it in KnitPicks Shadow "Vineyard" colorway. It's a dark purple. Love the pattern...it's perfect for watching tv.
ETA: I used my Loopy Ewe gift certificate last night. Ordered 4 skeins of Cascade 220 (worsted weight), 2 in Celtic Green and 2 in Black Forest and 1 skein of Trekking XXL sock yarn.Total Debt Paid Off $92,234
