Update Your Blog Challenge - 2010

Doing well!

We were on vacation last week, and I tried to update from my iPhone, but the 3G was a little funky, so I only had 3 updates from the beach. However, I'm back on track now, and have new stuff up as we speak. I've planned ahead and will be able to do a new post each day this week.

~Made two sewing tutorials today and they're scheduled to post next week. I'm only a week ahead. I need to have many more than that to get through my "maternity leave".~

Updated today with my one-year "blogoversary" contest for readers to win a $25 iTunes gift card. I know I have regular readers who are there every day, and I'm hopeful that they will tell friends, in the hopes of winning the gift card and that those friends will become regular readers.

I think the most interesting thing I've done with my blog, recently, is add ClustrMaps, which actually shows me where in the world people are logging in. It's so cool to know that someone from Korea logged in. Perhaps they followed a link and didn't stay, but still...they were there! It's a pretty awesome application and was pretty easy to install.

I've been thinking about purchasing my own website, because, eventually, wordpress will tell me that I reached my limit with what I've posted, and I feel like, after a year, I may be getting close. However, I'm nervous about paying for my own url and then maintaining it. I'm sure it's not terrible, but working full time AND maintaining a website might be a bit much.

We'll see.

And I had no idea you could reach a limit in WP.

I knew there was a picture limit(which I'm nowhere near)but do you mean there's a content limit? Is that so they can charge you to upgrade?~

~I had to take a publishing break from my blog because I've had no way to upload photos. My camera is so old that our newer computers won't recognize it without a card reader. We have one on order and it should be here this week.
Meanwhile I drafted 5 posts without pictures. They'll be scheduled when I can get the pictures added.~

~Ok, I got my card reader and attached photos and scheduled those posts. 1 update.
And I wrote and scheduled 4 more posts.
I really need to go through my posts and add tags. Most of my posts are tagless. I have a hard time thinking of what someone might enter as a search to bring up my posts. So I enter nothing and that's not good.~

Still blogging, even though I haven't been doing much else on the computer. Updating at least 5 out of 7 days of the week. Feeling good about it all!

~Added tags to 1/3 of my posts today. A third more need tags and the remaining third have tags that need improvement. I'll just count today as 1 update.~

I've decided to blog once a week for awhile. I am just too busy this summer for more. That means I can do a better quality post when I do post. Hopefully better quality photos too.

~4 posts written and scheduled.
I'm scheduled for a once a week post(my bare minimum)until the first week of November. So I won't feel too horrible if I need to neglect my blog for a while. I guess I reached my goal on that then!
For now I'm planning to keep scheduling one a week as I have time to make projects and post until the end of the year. Then I'll start doubling up on publication.
I actually want to start 2011 with a clean slate, no scheduled posts, as extra motivation!~

~2 more posts written and scheduled. 5 more and I can call it done for the year.
I'd love to get in more but I'm pretty busy these days and don't have a lot of spare time for finishing projects.
I'm already thinking about next year's goals and trying to think realistically about what I can do.~
