That's how I've always felt about aprons. I still don't own one...yet. I've decided I really like the idea of them though because I seem to be the new host of family gatherings and I'm always working on cooking something right up until the last minute. Then because I can't set foot in the kitchen without making a huge mess I'm rushing around to change clothes and look presentable for everyone.

But if I am all messy and 'floury' that just proves that I have been working really hard prior to your arrival!

Ok - I admit - I don't have the big family gatherings at my house. And the people that eat here know 'their risk'.....

FF you are just too much!!! I've ruined so many shirts by having food fall on them and not being able to get it out in the wash, that I find I really need to wear aprons to protect my wardrobe. Course I've also taken a multi-pronged approach...I buy all my clothes secondhand so I don't have to worry if they do get wrecked!

I tried this from the learn stain treatment approach. But it didn't work. I hear it's our super hard water. I don't know. Whatever... I figure if I give the food one more step to go through before it gets to my clothes, I'm one step to the better!

P.S. Did I mention I also hate clothes shopping?!

We could have a 'Wear Aprons and save our clothes" - but then s omeone would probably think that I was an advocate for wearing aprons only - not my intent for sure!!

I spill more on me when I eat than when I cook, but feel better when I do remember to wear an apron.

We do wear aprons a lot at school. For some reason my preschoolers love to share their messy hands and mouths at lunch time with anything that I am wearing!! We are also using gluten free playdough and it leaves sort of an oily residue.

Personally I'd take an apron over a housedress anyday!!

What's everyone working on today? I'm sewing the dinner napkins. Or at least starting them. There's 11 of them.

Thanks, but not really. I broke it down into steps. One day I tore up the tablecloth and started ironing in the edges. Another day I finished ironing in the edges. Then today I sat down and sewed the edges...then ironed them and put them away. Three days - one project.

Now onto the next one...I'm thinking longjohns...need a pattern...

The napkins look great P.........thanks for posting.

You are making progress - more than I am doing. I have had 'doggie dooooo' day - also known as doggie parlor days for last two days........nothing creative done, unless you call haircuts creative!

Got a tote cut out though.......it should zip right up.

Peanut - You've inspired me again. I shall cut up the vintage tablecloth to make napkins rather than buy the ones a Sam's......the tablecloth is embossed so it'll be prettier....cost for that gift , a little bit of thread! And thanks for the breaking it down in steps.......part of it I can do at work....you're such a doll!
