Beautiful work, YM! Love the anklets.

The flowers are pretty, FF. Are they crocheted or embroidered. I couldn't tell just by looking at the page, and the picture doesn't want to enlarge for me. But can tell will be very nice on a quilt.

I went to my first knitting class for the fingerless gloves tonight....knitted for an hour and a half and only have the teensiest bit of ribbing done. But learning how to do the magic loop and it's the prettiest yarn, so will just have to keep at it. The yarn shop I went to has a knit night from I believe 6pm until midnight the first Friday of each month, which is this Friday since the 1st was a holiday....thinking about going, I might be able to get a couple of inches done!! Need to have it knit to the length I want it up to the opening for the thumb, so will be knitting furiously over here

DC.........I don't know about these things!! I just know that I do like the variegated 'stuff'.......

You know what I am going to do with them......what do you think? And they can be bigger than what is in the pic too. I don't even care if they are all alike......in fact, it would be more interesting, if they weren't all alike (I'm talking 'style' here, not color - I don't want all the same color) - but doesn't matter!

I am running errands tomorrow I will stop in at a shop and talk to the gal.

LB - a friend was with me when I saw the quilt and she does all of it - knitting, crochet, quilting and she said they were crochet. She also said that it is something I could do to learn to crochet! In other words - they must not be too hard if she thinks I can do them as a LEARNER!!! (she also thinks she can teach me!!!)

LB I LOVE magic loop. That's how I do just about anything that's in the round.

I finished the June Afghan square yesterday. I also helped dd get started on her own Hemlock Ring blanket. I think I'll cast on the July square this afternoon.

I like it DC.... really cute.......want me to go look for the thread/yarn in colors that I want or are you just going to go for it with what you have? (not much pink please!) If so, you have to tell me EXACTLY what to get - remember I don't know about this stuff! One looks/is the same as the other to me - before being worked up.

was thinking about EXACTLY what I would do last night.....this will be so cool.

I am going to try this challenge. I would love to relearn knitting and learn to crochet. I think the first thing I am going to do is get a beginner's pattern and yarn to experiment.

Well first I have a TON of yarn and these don't take much so I could give you more variety that won't cost you a fortune. Do you want me to make a variety of both patterns? How many are you going to need? I will posts pics as I make them and then you can get an idea of the colors. I won't use pink if you don't like it. Any colors that you love (in variegated) I know I have quite of bit of variegated yarn. Just let me know.

Sure a variety of both. The store I 'thought' I was going to stop at today is out of business. So will go with your yarn.

Easier to tell you what I am 'not fond' of than what I like - don't like pink. And for what I am going to do with them-- ecru, white and black wouldn't be so good, if the yarn is all that color. If the variegated has that color in it then that is fine. My absolute favorite color is PEACH. But I like others too.......purples, browns, yellows, greens, blues, even reds and HOT PINK......just don't much like the 'true pink' or pale pink. (just don't have anything to go with it) Love anything bright/intensely colored. The variegated sounds wonderful. (even a 'little' pink in the variegated would be okay)

As for how many........well, I will use whatever you make. I can do a wallhanging &/or table runner with not too many but it will take a bunch to do a quilt - especially if I put three in each block. So make however many you want.......what is a fair minimum number??
