    Default Travel question - packing

    Who is the head luggage packer in your family?

    I had always prided myself on being an excellent luggage packer especially given all the experience I've had.

    Then in 1982 DH and I were getting ready for our honeymoon. Everything was laid out on our bed, DH was at work so I packed our bags. He came home and proceeded to repack everything.

    He didn't do it with an attitude; he just did it. I stood there watching him and made a wonderful major decision.......no need to get angry, he is forever more the designated luggage or anything packer. Guess what - he still is and he still does a wonderful job - better than I could!!

    So who gets the job/award in your home?
    Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

    We all do.

    When we go on our annual trip to Disney for Christmas, everyone is responsible for packing their own clothes. We have two large suitcases we always take. One holds clothes for warmer weather and the other for cooler weather. Each person puts his/her things in the appropriate suitcase.

    Each person knows what they will wear and need and can do it for themselves.

    Hubby wins the prize in our family, hands down. That man can find space where I swore none existed. Not only is he super efficient in packing bags, but he is also efficient in packing the trunk, the glove compartment, etc. The only thing I really pack better is my purse...........

    we each do our own....and because i work so many hours, i usually am the one who forgets something.... not so frugal then!!

    Everyone packs their own now. If we are going camping I pack the car and make the list as I will be cooking.
    DD just went on a weekend. I never asked her about what she brought.
    We are boyscouts after all.lol

    I start packing everyone a week in advance.. I make a check list for each person of what is packed and what still needs packed, then when all done, I check off everything and put the list in each luggage, so on return we can make sure we have everything..

    When we're flying, only carry-on is allowed.. I refuse to pay extra for under plane..
