All I got done was a fleece bag for my new camp lantern. But that gets rid of a piece of fleece for the Use It Up challenge, and protects the lantern, so good enough.

The quilt top looks great for just a beginner AP!

Great idea for arranging AP's sewing space SD! It looks so much better now!

I like the quilt top too AP. I don't think you should be too hard on yourself as a beginner. The border definitely looks "interesting". Not sure how they constructed it. Looks like a bunch of triangles pieced together, with the ends chopped off some. Love your colours.

That table was dirt cheap on CL...........but then you have to do the drawer thing...........with my shelf, I didn't need much......and has space beside the machine for quite a bit.

That's true ff, I hadn't thought of that I'll have to check CL.

Peanut, it's color rectangles, with a white square sewn on the diagonal, with excess cut off then pressed open. Then sewn to an opposite of the same thing. Then sewn together with white squares on the corners.

This is the quilt my mom made me. Turns out she started it when I started college NINE years ago so I'd have something from home, and it took her this long to finish it. She said she finished it the night before Christmas eve lol. She gave me the extra squares she had so I made a pillow yesterday.

What a nice gift from your mom! As someone who has been working on a quilt for 35 years, I am in admiration she finished it. Gives me a bit of incentive here. i would be finished mine except the sucker is so big! And I don't like it anymore. I started hand quilting it. But I've switched to machine quilting the border. I simply don't have time to do the hand quilting. Plus the weight of the thing makes it very difficult to hand quilt on my lap. And no, there's no room for a big frame in the house.

worked a bit on my quilt top yesterday. Hopefully I can finish it today.

AP - what a wonderful quilt from your Mom!! A real treasure and the pillow is perfect.

It gives me incentive to work on my Mom's again. Will start again after she leaves tomorrow.

Haven't done anything crafty lately...other than a bit of sewing on a scrappy-squares quilt that I started yesterday. Mostly cutting on that though.

My mom, sister, and I are going to start a craft/quilt etc day soon. That makes me happy...crafting with other humans! What an idea. My sister has never touched a sewing machine, so we get to teach her. That will be fun! At some point I'll also teach them both to knit.

I didn't get much done in 2011, but it was certainly more than usual. I finished a baby sweater for a shower gift, finished a poncho that I started when my 11 year old was 4 for my 5 year old girl's birthday, knitted 3 dishclothes, and crocheted a lamb hat for my son for the Christmas concert. I did get a bit done on my brother's crossstitch piece, but it's still not finished. I'll tackle it this year.
