Peanut - I love the picturers of all your work - absolutely lovely!!

Labontet - aren't you thankful for some of those projects for others - I know that I sure am. Your sewing the horse blanket reminded me of sails that I used to repair - my Viking handled them all thank goodness!!

You've all been busy. Welcome to the thread glenvon! I'm hoping to make it into my sewing room tomorrow. I have too many projects on my sewing table. Gotta clear it off so I can work on something.

Still need to find my way into my sewing/craft room - it's a really slow process. Have moved my sewing machine into the living room so I at least have access to it!!

And most important - remember pictures!!

A sewing friend came over last evening and helped me pick out quilting thread from my stash for three of my quilt tops. I am so happy I don't have to buy thread for them. Now all I need to do is sandwich them and start quilting.

Haven't managed to get in my sewing room yet today...except with the electrician to check out the wiring.

Peanut, love the pics of the finished projects. The bear reminded me of an old one I have.....was mine. My mother put it in a Xmas present one year.

Thanks piney. I have learned to do that.........things disappear in the wash and never make it back to her room. Very frustrating since they have to buy their own stuff like that.

I haven't accomplished any sewing this week. Things are just too hectic. I've been busy talking to contractors, preparing for a card making party, and keeping up with my normal socializing and activities. It's a rough life. I even skipped my baking day this week. Not that it hurt us any. We are entirely too well fed. Chocolate, brownies and stewed fruit with homemade yogurt today. And what does this have to do with sewing? Absolutely nothing! Time to get back to work. I might head into the sewing room tonight...

I've done no ssewing this week too Peanut!!!! DH has a nine AM meeting on the other side tomorrow morning, so I might just devote some time to working on my sewing machine. There are a couple of things that I want to get done soon - the alterations on my friend's shirts and finish the baby quilt top. Then I can get started on whatever else I want to sew!!

One of the ladies that showed up at our card making party brought an apron she designed and sewed this past week. It was to die for! I have never seen an apron like this! Totally designer stuff. She is an ESL student at university, but is taking this semester off to earn money to put her DH through school.

I told her bluntly that if that was how she sewed, my fabric stash was there for her to use. But because we go to the same church and are trying to build up missions, I put one caveat on it. Whatever she makes and sells, the proceeds have to go to missions.

You would have thought I let a kid loose in a candy store! She was ecstatic! I gave her an old apron pattern I'd picked up for $2 somewhere. You can tell this woman had some serious training back in Korea. She took a 2 year course in Fashion Design there.

I mentioned her skill to another lady last night and she, lo and behold, has a ton of alterations that need doing. I will connect them up today at church and see how it goes.

    Back to my own sewing...

As part of our card making party yesterday we discussed other things we could do to raise money for missions at the church. One of the topics that came up was sewing. One lady wants to learn how to sew. One is quite good. I am so-so. We talked about different things to sew.

When I told our pastor about the apron, she suggested aprons for Mother's Day. Not a bad idea. I'm thinking we could add tea cozies and potholders to that. Possibly some nice tote bags. Gotta go check my fabric stash and see what's there that can be used. A lot depends on how this sale of Valentine's Day goodies goes.

But I'm off to check out free patterns and ideas on the Internet...

    Peanut,

You are such a caring, giving, generous person. You will be blessed as you have blessed this person and others. Good luck with your sewing and the projects for Mothers Day sound cool

Nor did I get to my machine at all this week...........

I went downstairs and stared at the quilt blocks........does that count?? No creativity has come forth for borders for them so will have to go through some books. Am so totally STUMPED on this.............

Don't have a photo program right now so can't take pics and ask for help..........which I would do..........will have to check prices of it this week.............or see if my computer nerd can help me out.
