Right now I am tearing - or trying to at least - the paper on the back with all the fabric information - if I am successful it will give me 2" x 4" more fabric!! Tedious and hopefully worth it!!

Free fabric is always a great gift MM.

Would you have to tear it off?.......would it wash off?
    Sounds pretty tedious!!!

Good idea FF - think I'll test it on one I'm not using.

Is this on the back of the fabric?

Even if it doesn't wash off..........when the quilt is done, will it
even show? As long as it doesn't show through the fabric.......

I think I know the paper you mean and I just think of the 'tedious
task' and cringe. If sample fabric.........every corner on those
    things are really glued down!!

(know what I go through when I try to get a label off a jar----am sort of 'anal' about that......and I keep a LOT of them!!)

Yup - the whole piece is glued down -- all 2" x 4". At least if I wash it, the paper even if it doesn't come off should soften enough to use - okay, you've convinced me!!

Perfectly brilliant you are FF!! All of the paper is gone - question is where did it go? Anyway - there are light marks on the back side of the fabric which will not show!! And I found a great fabric (also free) to make the sashings out of. I may make my deadline of making a quilt this month!!

My girlfriend is coming over to sew tomorrow. First thing I am going to do is put a binding on my very first quilt that I made! LOL It's been sitting in my UFO pile for far to long. I'll decide what I want to do from there after that. I look at quilt blogs and find so many ideas, I need to quit that and just work on some projects I have here. Sounds good, doesn't it! LOL Happy quilting!

I finally pulled out my hand quilted quilt I've been working on since I was 17 and started quilting the border. About time! I just had to dig through my stuff to find it, that's all. I de-clutter four bags of yarn and got down to this. Besides I'm sick, it's raining cats and dogs. I'm ready for a break. I've been sitting and stitching while watching daytime TV. It's pretty bad.
