Just came back to FV and just found this challenge so I'm jumping in late! Here's what I've read this year:

The Millionaire Next Door - Pretty good, got a bit repetitive after awhile, but I think he was just really trying to drill home the point that real millionaires do NOT spend money, they save and invest.

Imagine Life with a Well-Behaved Dog - Got a puppy in April Good book on training though, wish i'd read it before getting the other dogs i've owned.

Food Rules - Super fast read, basically a condensed version of Michael Pollans other books, really simple advice on how to eat well though.

Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience - Was a book my sister had to buy for a psych class, and i'd heard a lot about it when I was in psych so I thought I'd try it. I didn't actually finish it, so probably shouldn't even put it on here hehe. I got about halfway through but it got repetitive too, and I didn't always agree with his points.

The Dead Zone - I needed a fast, exciting read and Stephen King is always good for that.

My Antonia - A fictional memoir of a boy growing up on the Nebraska prairie in the 1880's. Pretty good, although i think it's geared towards high schoolers, so it was very simple and fast read, but still enjoyable.

How Green Was My Valley - A fictional memoir of a boy growing up in a coal mining village in South Wales. I really enjoyed this one. (I love memoirs, real or fictional, as you can tell)

A People's History of the United States - I've been reading this for awhile, it's really good, it's just long (750 pages) and sort of like a history book (although definetely not as dry and much more interesting) so i've just been slowing chipping away at it. It tells the history of the US but from the point of view of women, factory workers, African Americans, Native Americans, working poor, and immigrant laborers so it's very interesting. Luckily I got it on sale for $2for Kindle, so I can take as long as I want with it.

I think i've read more but I've forgotten them already (guess they weren't that good then hehe) I'm going to start The Kite Runner today.

    Happy Reading Everyone!
