Choices and life paths - Frugal Luxuries

You must choose your own style of simplicity and make a plan to obtain it. The simplifying process materializes when you plan your finances and activities to harmonize and deliver you to your goals. How many people drift along in life because they have no plan They have not synchronized their efforts with their aspirations. Living in this manner is the opposite of living simply.

Another of my favorite quotes in the book. I always have struggled with making plans but when I read this I begin to realize if we didn't make a plan, we wouldn't get to where we wanted to go.

So we sat down and wrote out our goals and plans and where we wanted to be. It was hard work because we had never done this before and dh isn't one to write things out. We worked hard at it. After it was written down though, it seemed so much easier to begin to work on those dreams.

How about you, what are your thoughts on this?

I don't really have it written down but, I know my goals are not to obtain more stuff. My goals are to prepare for retiremnt for DH and to go places and enjoy life as much as possible. I have so many places I still want to visit and so much more I want to do with the Granddaughters. I haven't read the book but, I sure find the discussions interesting. Hope it is OK that I have joined in.
