What are you reading, or plan to read, in June '08???
~ I flew through Plum Locky by Janet Evanovich (sp) the other night.
I'm not much of a comedy type reader but these charecters always have me rolling. For those of you who haven't read it yet it was another adventure with Disel. Not much on the Morelli and Ranger front.
~ Currently I'm a couple of hundred pages in Guilty by Karen Robards. I always like her stuff. A single mom whose past comes back to haunt her and the hunky protective cop ya know she's gonna fall for.
---------on the shelf waiting--------------
~ Sinner by Tess Griestein
~ Death of a Darklord by Laurell K. Hamilton

Last night just started reading the Book of Mormon which is my summer project. I have a strange fascination with religious texts. I spent all of 2007 reading the Old & New Testament of the Bible. Also want to read eastern religious texts.
After I finish the first 2 books I'd like to pick up:
It's all too much: An easy plan for living a richer life with less stuff
and
The Art of Racing in the Rain

I just finished Mentor: the Kid and the CEO. Fascinating true story! And it only took me about 45 minutes to read.

Rooted Nomad-I'm not huge on comedy either, but I love the Plumb series, too! The characters are too much!
Acidcookie- I'm usually reading some kind of religious text, too. This month I'm taking a break, kind of.
I'm reading - The Memory Keepers Daughter by Kim Edwards, and 365 Dalai Lama. Daily Advice from the Heart.

Just found Memory Keeper's Daughter at goodwill, so gonna start that, browsing through The Complete Tightwad Gazette again, and I am reading Through Painted Deserts by Don Miller. I usually have one fiction and one nonfiction going at the same time, weird habit I guess lol.

Love Janet Evanovich's novels! I have to be careful to not let out with massive laughter reading them in bed when Hubby is asleep next to me. So much fun! And oh my that Ranger makes for some good dreams.

Right now I'm reading True Believer by Nicholas Sparks after that is Seize The Night by Dean Koontz.
The Nicholas Sparks book isn't my usual kind of reading material (Sis gave it to me) but it's fun to read. Love is in the air, lol.~*Darlene*~

Panati's Extraordinary Endings of Practically Everything and Everybody (Charles Panati). This is a fascinating read I stumbled across at the library. Some of it's a little grisly, but what fun!
I've also got the first two volumes of Asimov's stories - it's been a long time since I've read anything by him. So long, that I don't even remember the punch lines in some of these that I used in my dissertation years ago!Donna

I must be in a nostalgic mood. I've been watching Murder She Wrote reruns and have started buying the MSW paperbacks from Amazon. I'm just devouring them.

Just requested some historical romance books from the library.
" May we never let the things we can’t have or don’t have or shouldn’t have spoil our enjoyment of the things we do have and can have. As we value our happiness, let us not forget it. One of the greatest lessons in life is learning to be happy without the things we cannot or should not have."

I read the Tibetan Book Of The Dead (might have been a shortened version. I can't really remember now.) a couple of years ago as part of my Death and Dying class. This is not the more popular Egyptian version. From what I remeber this is a small group in comparison to other religous groups. I found it very intresting. I even chose to write a paper on it. If your intrested in older religious works you may want to check into this one.
