Mine hates to read (what is wrong with her ???
) but since I make her read 30 minutes a day through the summer she is reading The New Adventures of Mary Kate and Ashley series of books. I can get lost in a good book and hopefully, at some point, she will start enjoying to read a little more.

Julia is still holding fast to the A-Z mysteries, however, her librarian recently turned her on to the new Nancy Drew series, Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew, which is Nancy Drew when she's 8. Less scary than the originals (I didn't think they were scary, but apparently she does a little) and more modern. We just picked up a bunch of Bailey School Kids books this morning at the library. She loves those also. She has a Goosebumps book, but hasn't ventured into it yet.

I started reading to Dakota but now he reads to me and he's 4! He really does like Berenstain Bears and Bob the Builder books. Matthew, my oldest, won't read to me but I've caught him sitting on his bed with the door closed and reading outloud (he's the autistic one).

cheriede,
I didn't realize there were Sweet Valley Kids books. After you post, I checked them out at amazon. I used to LOVE the Sweet Valley High books when I was a pre-teen. The Kids ones look cute and harmless. I may pick one up for dd. Thanks! My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

ds loves captain underpants and goosebumps.
We picked up some Tell me about books on clearance, and he was reading science and tech, but lost it at day camp. he's getting more into non fiction lately. He also loves comics, particularly Garfield.
