    Default Another commercial question/Ashley furniture

I know commercials can be very regional but does anyone who gets the Ashley furniture commercials 'get' why they have different girls say "Hiieeee, I'm Ashley".....? I mean yeah, Ashley Furniture, girls named Ashley....what I don't get is why some company exec would hire someone to make those commercials. Can someone please 'splain it to me? Am I missing some deeper meaning here?

I couldn't tell ya! It is silly. Kind of odd since their showroom and sales men are professional and serious. I sure didn't meet any silly Ashley's there. LOL

~Haven't seen the commercial but my sister worked for Ashley as a salesperson for several months and she can attest to the amount of non-professionalism and silliness that goes on there. People can get a little nuts living on commission only. I did order furniture from there and, although it's on the lower end of quality, I do like it and think it'll hold up through the rough kid years. Perhaps the ad agency wanted to make the chain feel affordable? Nothing like a ridiculous commercial to lower your esteem for a company. Less prestige=bargains, right? Even more disturbing is that they might be targeting very young buyers. "Hey 18 year-old's, buy loads of our adorable furniture for your awesome pad on credit and only pay for it for the next 15 years! Yipppee!~

Your experience is really different from mine then in Arcadia WI. At least with clients they were real serious and pampered you but good while shopping.

I've only been in our Ashley store once. The sales people were like vultures on deat meat! When I say I'm only looking, that's what I mean. I do not mean....follow me around and comment on every single thing I stop to glance at! Not impressed. I understand commission, I do not understand overbearing and rude as a sales tactic.

Oh whats really nice is 30 miles from Ashley we have a closeout store on their furniture! Gotta love it when you get your 2600 leather sectional sleeper for 1800 with free delivery! All we had to do was bring them the info sheet and as a dealer he picked up the exact cough brand spandkin new from the factory for less.

    Unhappy Another commercial question/Ashley Furniture

Maybe they want to make Ashley Furniture have a friendlier feel to the public with an actual face?

I know here for many years there was a small furniture chain that had a Wolfman Jack lookalike and his daughter that owned it. They had a very public face and one of them was in the store anytime you visited. Unfortunately, when he died the public apparently didn't like her face and I think they went out of business.
