    Default Orman on Oprah

Suze Orman is on the Oprah show today. I don't know if it is a rebroadcast or not.

The guest family at the moment is a young couple with young kids and $100k in credit card debt because she needed to keep up with the Jones's.
The Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.

Onboard with a modified Dave Ramsey Plan
Budget: "Every month! On paper, on purpose!"

Gardening somewhere between Zone 6b and 7a.

It's a repeat. I've been getting ready for a family visit tonight, so I haven't been able to pay too much attention to it. What I *have* seen though is unbelievable :eyebrow:

    I'm watching it right now.
How in the world could the couple with $100,000 buy all of the stuff they have!? Even with credit I just don't understand how? My husband makes that amount and I swear some days I feel like we are just staying afloat.

We are debt free besides our house payment!!!

Well, we only bring in combined about $40,000, so I can't even IMAGINE how they could NOT have any money!!!!!

I could save that second family (didn't really see the first) tons of money just by selling the things that they have. They make $146K combined, I think they said. And they're expecting a baby. I'd love to give that family some tough love

It's not hard if you have several credit cards with 5-digit limits on each. DH and I, when we had credit cards could have bought a house with the available credit we had (not a 200k house, but still...that's a lot of available credit!). Plus when you have a home equity loan added in the mix (as they did) it adds up pretty quickly!

I like Suzy Orman. She says it like it is. I've seen the show before, it's amazing how much debt people will get themselves into.

I watched it and so did my 16 yr old ds.

To me it looked like the husband just turned a blind eye to everything that was going on.

The 2nd couple I could not believe she spent $900.00 on a pair of shoes!!
That was just plain nuts in my book.

The first couple's situation was unbelievable. I hope their marriage survives the hard work it's going to take to dig out of that hole.
