Has Anyone Read the Twilight Series?
Okay, granted, these books are geared toward teenage girls, but I began reading them because I was considering buying them for my classroom library in the fall.
OMG...I am obsessed with these books. They are about vampires, but it's a love story and it's totally appropriate...no funny business going on and not really any gore, either. But, they've sucked me right in and I love them. I read all of the first three this week and am now dying until the fourth comes out, I believe on August 10th.
The author is Stephenie Meyer. They are really, REALLY good. Last night, as I read the last 1/4 of the third book, I was sobbing. SOBBING.My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

DD has read them all. I bought her Breaking Dawn on Saturday night and by Sunday afternoon she was finished. She said she could not decide if it was as good as she had hoped. Said she was going to reread it this week and see if it is better the second time around.

Stephenie Meyer is rewriting Twilight from Edward's point of view. I think the first chapter is on the website. Pretty interesting!
I liked Breaking Dawn, but was a bit disappointed. I thought it was all a little too convenient, but I have to remember that it's for young adults and it needs a good ending. My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

Once you posted about them, I requested the first one from my library, and I'm on a huge waiting list. I think in the 100's somewhere
Maybe I'll have better luck on Paperback Swap.

I've heard a lot of great things about them and as soon as I can make it to the library I'm going to check them out. I'd like to get the first one read before the movie is set to come out (eventhough I will probably wait until its on dvd to watch it.)

I just asked DD14 if she had heard of this series. Her response, "yeah, my friends are obsessed with them, I am borrowing the books from them when they are done." I will have to check them out when she has them.

Got Twilight yesterday from the library. Read it. Loved it.

Will be reading it again today. I am really wanting to buy these books. They'll be my go-to read during a rainstorm I think.McD

My 9th grade neice told me about them. We took her to the beach with us, so I asked her to bring them, she had the first 3. As soon as we got home I had to go buy the 4th, because hers was lost in transit somewhere. I really, really enjoyed them, I had to know what happend next.
So that being said, I still put Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" Series and the "Harry Potter" books as my favorite all time, but this series will go somewhere on my favs list.
