Default Blood Diamond and Charlie Wilson's War

I watched both these movies in the same weekend.
Blood Diamond is about the diamond trade in Africa and Charlie Wilson's War takes place in Afghanistan. Very good drama, but way more disturbing and frightening than any horror movie in my book!

Blood Diamond is one of my favorite movies and it really opened my eyes about things I never thought of before. I'll never buy another diamond in my lifetime. Oh and Leonardo just makes me swoon.

I loved Blood Diamond as well. I didn't see the other one.

Blood diamond really made me think hard about things. Disturbing but informative and riveting. But thats what a good movie is supposed to be.

I liked Blood Diamond, but there were parts I couldn't watch. Just too intense for me. Charlie Wilson's War I can't really comment much on because I started to watch it and easily walked away. It wasn't initially compelling enough to hold my attention. It might have been fabulous, but I couldn't get through the first few minutes, so don't know. I was drawn to the actors in the movie, so tend to believe it's good. Might try to watch it again sometime.

Doesn't he just get better with age? I always thought he was cute but now he's a butter melter!

Try Charlie Wilson's War again, just fast forward to Julia Roberts- she starts the good stuff.
Yes, both were very thought provoking, and I felt the same way about the diamonds. Why would I want that stone as a simple of love and commitment to marriage and family IF it was obtained under such circumstances.
