    Default Children's Book Recommendation

I just borrowed this book from the woman with whom I share my office. As I'm the Instructional Leader for Math and Science, she's the Instructional Leader for Language Arts. In our office, she has shelves and shelves of books for teachers to borrow for their classes. Most of them are middle school chapter books, but she used to be an elementary school teacher and she still has shelves and shelves of children's books.

Anyway, I peruse the shelves and bring home a few books each night to read to the kids. On Friday, I brought home a few books, and one of them was one of the most beautiful, wonderful children's books I've ever read. It was called The Quiltmakers Gift. I absolutely recommend that you see if your library has this book and read it to your children. Heck, even if you don't have kids, it was a great read. I read it to the kids a few times (they kept asking for it...warning, it's a bit long) and then I read it for myself once or twice as well.

Just a great message and a really beautiful story.

Thanks, Paula! I brought this one home yesterday night. The Quiltmaker's Journey is like the prequel to the other one. Seriously...such excellent books.
