Question about Jerry Springer's guests
Has anyone else noticed most of his guests have a desperate need of dental work? Like they are missing their front teeth? And these aren't old people, they are fairly young too. So did the teeth get knocked out in a fight or did they fall out from decay?
Or is the real problem here that I have way too much time on my hands?
On 11-22-85 I married the man of my dreams.
On 01-13-89 I gave birth to the love of my life.

You might have too much time on your hands
Just kidding! I've wondered where Jerry finds his guests, they are quite interesting.

maybe lacking the money for dental care? they probably dress funny too huh?
I don't watch it. I have in the past maybe 4-5 times. Each time it seemed scripted, and when the "fight" breaks out, you see the smirk on jerry's face. trash tv, watch public tv and maybe learn something.

Ok, so just an FYI, everyone knows that Jerry Springer is scripted and not real right?
I actually went to a taping while I was in college and while it was a blast, I had never realized that it wasn't a "real" talk show! Prior to starting the cameras, they are actually standing there reading their scripts and walking through scenes (with all the fights and chair throwing choreographed).
The people on the show are all actors of one sort or another! The accents that they sport are gone as soon as they break for commercial, and the couple who is brawling during taping, stand and laugh and talk cordially when the cameras aren't rolling.
I was never a huge fan of Springer, but haven't watched it since I went to the taping of the show (this was in '97) because I realized that it is scripted to get the best crazy people they can!
Ok, half this post went missing when I posted and a bunch of stuff about spam replaced it. I had added the word hill*billy, as one word, and I think it didn't like it!

RE: hill*billy...it showed a bunch of stuff about spam because there is a competing site with that name in the title, and it filters/censors it. If it was any post but one describing hill*billies as I think you are in this post, I would advise you not to try to get around the filter. It's against the TOS (that's just an
for anyone else who may be reading and wondering why that happens to them).

I didn't know that the people on the show are scripted and acting! I was always so turned off of this show because I thought that it took advantage of people who didn't realize completely what they were getting into by being on the show, or were people who wanted to be on tv and just looking for attention.

Oh man, this show has been the best thing for getting my guys to do their schoolwork, especially grammar. It was great because we could sit there and pick apart the people and their actions. You just can't do that tactfully in public. They understand that speaking well and using proper grammar goes a long way. We would watch it when there was one person that spoke a little better and conducted themselves with a little dignity. I would ask the guys "what did they think of the people and why?" and "who did they think was more intelligent?" and "who would they hire if they were supposed to hire one of them for a job?". It really sunk in that how people perceive you is important. And, it also sunk in that how you conduct yourself affects your job and your income. We would also talk about what kind of jobs/careers those people probably have and how they probably involved the phrase "would you like fries with that?". We also discussed the incomes that those people probably made and if that was enough to support someone and a family. Talk about a great educational resource!!
And, actually, finding out that it is really all acting makes me feel so much better about picking those poor people apart.
Side note:
Maury Povich, when he is having those "I tested 100 men and none were the fathers" shows, are great for teaching why we use lots of forms of birth control. And, why we may not want to sleep with women who sleep with lots of men. And, the discussion of the quality of women that would do that and if they really would want to sleep with a woman that had been around the block that many times and was that irresponsible while going around the block. It was great for discussing STD's and all that stuff too.Beak-1996, Toad-1998, and Q-1998

a lot of meth heads have rotten teeth
11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
credit card debt 7500
mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
then live on the rest!
i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

So do people who simply don't have insurance because they can't afford it and also can't afford the cost of the care period. It happens. My DH had bad teeth, he's not a meth head, we just can't really afford health insurance of any kind because it's too expensive and it's going to take about $8000 to fix everything he needs done. Which to me is outrageous. Seriously, if they didn't charge and arm and a leg people could afford regular maintenance so it wouldn't turn into serious matters.

Back on topic...I can't believe that show is even still one! Actually I can't believe any talk shows are still on. They've all just gone completely opposite of what they used to be back in the day.

Well I can't stand watching that show.......its just plain gross.......and as far as tooth decay....... I just had the last 5 of my teeth pulled out. The meds I take weakened them so 3 of them broke..... I have never done illegal drugs...........I also had no money to try and save them.......... I'm just glad they are gone..........
FernYes I'm out of my mind. It's a dark and scary place in there.
