    Red face Laurell K Hamilton

Does any one else read this author? If so, what did you like best about her series'? If you don't like her, do you have a favorite paranormal romance author you would reccommend?

I read about 12 of her books. I loved the first 5 or 6 and then thought they got a bit too much.

Have you read Charlaine Harris or Sherrilyn Kenyoun yet?

Sorry I can't give you a opinion on any of these myself, as I do not normally read fiction.
I have however sold a lot of books in my time online, and paranormal have always been a good seller.
I am thinking I should get get a bunch of romance, and paranormal listed real soon on ebay.

My goal this week is to get some yarn up online. Destash in progress.

I am not a big fan of Lindsay Sands. In fact one of her books tops my worst book ever list. To me she made her vampires seem like drunken frat boys.
I do like Charlaine Harris and I absolutely love Kresley Cole.
A friend of mine keeps telling me to read Sherrilyn Kenyon.

Go to www.whatshouldireadnext.com enter in a book you like and it will give you a list of suggested reading.

Gerry Bartlett - Enjoy her Real Vampires have curves and all the others after that first book are fun to read. Sassy, vampires, romance, a bit of drama... It's the Glory St. Clair Series.

Personally I really enjoy the books from Amanda Ashley. Specifically I've read recently "Dead Perfect" and "Dead Sexy" both vampire romance. I just started reading Night's touch yesterday.

Candace Havens writes a series that's called "Charmed & (whatever)" It's a paranormal romance series about a witch. Fun read again. easy too.

I've heard that Charlaine Harris is a fun read. Matter fact, if you know anything about the show True Blood that just came out this last year I think it's after a series of hers. I want to read those. They seem like a fun read.

I have a ton of stuff that I want to read that I haven't yet. Just started getting into the paranormal romance stuff late last year. I have a bookshelf that I keep the books I've read on and I also have tons of friends who love paranormal romance on the site who put in reviews of books. If you're interested in browsing around it's at Shelfari

I also enjoyed the first 5 or 6 of the Anita series, but then they just sort of descended into poorly written erotica and I quit reading them.

I've been reading Jim Butcher lately. His Harry Dresden series is fun.

Charlaine Harris's books in my opinion are not as good as the HBO True Blood Series but are still a fun read. I like that I know what is going to happen in future seasons of True Blood because I read the series.

The Dresden Files was awesome! I really liked the show on the Sci Fi channel as well.

first five or six were manageable and then they were a bit too much for me.

I've been reading Sherrilyn Kenyon recently and am about to embark on PC and Kristin Cast's books...can't recall the titles but they're a duo and write a younger version of paranormal stuff.

loved Twilight series too...but its pretty emotional and deep.

I am a HUGE paranormal fan.
I haven't read Laurell's Anita Blake series, but I am addicted to her Merry Gentry series. I would HIGHLY recommend that one. I have read them all. HOT HOT HOT.

These are my thoughts on some of the others that were recommended:
Sherrilyn Kenyon : I have read almost all of her books. At first I was a rabid fan but I won't be buying anymore of her books as I have been bored by them now. Her Dark Hunter books are pretty good, but I won't be buying anymore now that I have read Acheron.
Maggie Shane: I have read one or two of hers, but they weren't enough to really grab me
Lynsay Sands : haven't read any of hers:
Kinley MacGregor : This is Sherrilyn Kenyon in another name. So, the thoughts apply here as well.
Gena Showalter : I have recently "found" her. I am reading her Lords of the Underworld series. It is really good so far (however I have only read the first 2)
Christine Feehan: I read one or two of hers and couldn't stand them, never tried another. I know quite a few women who LOVE her writing however. So she might be worth a trip to the library.
Nora Roberts: I read the Cirlce Triology and it was REALLY good. I would recommend that but as far as her other stuff...I don't know.
Mary Janice Davidson : never read any of hers
Anne Rice: I don't see her as romance. I loved her Witches series. Read quite a bit of her Vampire series but it was after I saw the movie and I can't stand Tom Cruise, so his image in my head as Lestat might have prevented me from really loving it.

Other authors that you might like that are paranormal or paranormal romance:
Lynn Viehl: She has a Darkyn series. The first book is "If Angels Burn". She has a different take on the creation of
    vampires.
J.R. Ward: Black Dagger Brotherhood is a series of books about immortal vampire type warriors. First book is Dark Lover
Kelley Armstrong: She has a Women of the Otherworld series that is quite enjoyable. The first is called Bitten
Jacquelyn Frank: She has a pretty good Nightwalkers series. The first is Jacob
Patricia Briggs: She is one of my favorite paranormal authors. The first in her Mercy Thompson series is Moon Called
Eileen Wilks: Another fav. The first in her series is Tempting Danger
Vicki Pettersson: Not really romance, but a really cool series. The first is The Scent of Shadows: The first sign of the zodiac
Carrie Vaughn: The first in her series is Kitty and the Midnight Hour.

If I think of anymore I will post them. I have a few more series that I have just started, but I don't know if they are keepers yet since I haven't had a chance to read the second book.
Oh...Katie MacAllister is another writer who, while the stories aren't all that deep, her writing is full of humor and they are enjoyable.

Oh, I should add, that if you don't like a lot of erotic sex scenes, then I think LKH is not the way to go. Especially the Merry series.

Read the first couple, then they started getting silly and a little too over the top. Same with Anne Rice. I prefer a good story over supernatural erotica.

Love the Jim Butcher Dresden Files books. The main character is male, but they are still good stories.

Tried to read Moon Called but couldn't get interested in the character. YMMV. The author is apparently selling enough copies to have sequels.

I really like Kim Harrison's Dead Witch Walking and the rest of the series. They aren't high literature by any means, but they are a fun read.

There are two short story anthologies, Dates from Hell and Holidays from Hell which have a number of different authors. So you could grab one book and see if any of the writers interest you.

I like the Anita series (though there were a few that were a disappointment) but not the Meredith Gentry series. MoonMommy hit two of my favorite authors in this foeld as well.

Patricia Briggs - her Mercy Thompson books are very good. They are also not anywhere near erotica for those of you that don't like to read all the sex scenes.

Kelly Armstrong - Women of the Otherworld series is also one I'm a big fan of and focuses on different charecters as the main one for different books so it helps keep the strength of the series.

I haven't heard Kim Harrison mentioned an she has an awesome series. Here's the link where you can read some excerps. I love the way she titles 'em.

I haven't read Kim Harrison yet.
My problem is, I have so many authors that I currently REALLY love and by the time I get through their books, they already are on another wave of them. I have picked up a few new authors. I may give Kim a try.
