I didn't watch it all, but I saw a bit. I do think he is correct when he said that people aren't going to open their wallets if they are worried about losing their jobs.

Didn't know he was on... I was at school, anyway, so couldn't have watched.

And no speech could make me believe the stimulus package is a good move... I wasn't for the last one and am not for this one... I think it'll just throw our country FARTHER into debt and not accomplish anything economy-wise (the last one didn't!).

I watched it and I found it informative and hopeful. One thing I like about him is that I feel his answers are thoughtful and honest. I know we've got a long road ahead but I'm glad he's our president right now. It's probably going to get worse before it gets better, but it will get better.

I watched it last night and felt that our President was being forthright and honest about the situation we are in. I felt really scared for our immediate future. But I think he gave us hope that he was doing everything he could to encourage those in Washington to work together regardless of political parties. I would rather hear the truth and feel scared then heard a candy coated message w/hidden meanings and finger pointing.

I didn't listen to the speech.

I don't think it much matters who's in office, this economy is not going to improve overnight.

I don't necessarily agree with a stimulus package and have only heard bits and pieces of it. I did hear a lot of money was earmarked for rebuilding our infrastructure and since I live in a state that recently had a bridge collapse, I'm all in favor of the government spending money on that kind of thing. If it'll put people back to work and improve the quality and safety of our roadways, it's a win-win.

I don't think there's much choice but for the government to try to shore up the economy, regardless of the cost. I don't know that it'll work, but if the lawmakers did nothing and let the free market prevail, what would happen then?
