How would you spend $1000?
I am writing an english paper and need to use a graph/table in it, so I decieded to collect my own data. So here is the senerio:
You have just been given $1000 and here are the rules for its use:
- You can not use this money to pay bills or to buy something you need
- You can not give this money to charity
- You must use this money for yourself and 1 family member or friend
Choose one of the options in the poll and if you would like, explain why you would choose that.
This is just for fun. I know that I would want to use $1000 to pay bills but it is fun to think about spending for something frivolous.

I'd find it "wasted" if it wasn't on something tangible, so I went with the large purchase.
Probably on appliances. I'm using the stove and fridge the previous owners left for me. The fridge, for example, is a year younger than I am and likes to randomly freeze one of my produce items every other week or so.

I voted for the shopping spree because of the rules you set up. Only having one family member or friend join in the fun. So with the money I would by myself a laptop. I have wanted one for a while but my desktop works fine so haven't been able to justify buying a laptop. If I was able to treat my whole family, the 6 of us would have taken off for an amusement park.

I chose other...I would put it into my savings account and let it accrue interest!
Technically, I probably got around the rules, but I did follow them...I'm not using the money to pay bills, I'm not giving it to charity, and I would be using this money to help my husband and I hit our savings goals!
Boring, but honestly...that is what I would do with it!

I'd spend it on landscaping...specifically, a few large trees for the back of our property.

There are several little hotels up by baxjul that DH and I would like to go and stay at. Spend some time walking in the parks and bumming throught the local thrift stores. Maybe spring for dinner with baxjul and her family.

A romantic getaway would let me share the wealth with Hubby. We like to travel, so it would include travel expenses, a cozy little bed and breakfast for a couple nights, fabulous meals, and some leisurely antique shopping. I am very sure that we can manage this for $1000! Maybe even twice!

Shopping spree isn't the term I'd use, but there are several larger $$ items (like a garden tiller and a new computer) that we put off while DH was out of work, that we are now saving up for. Whatever was left would go into home repairs or savings.
