    Question Favorite read?

One of my favorite frugalities is going to the library. If I feel the need to shop, I can always go to the stacks and come home with an entire bag of books without it costing a penny. I'm looking for inspiration, girls, what are your favorite reads?
    TIA,
    Michele

I like all books, depending on the mood of the day. I have read all of the Christian fiction my little library offers, as well as many of the mystery titles as well. I *did* read Beach Music this summer, it was great. Keep 'em coming!

I love anything by Jonathon Kellerman, Preston & Childs, most of Stephen King's, and books on frugal living or decluttering.

I love "The Cat Who..." series by Lilian Jackson Braun and I'm a John Grisham fan(except his last book, I didn't find it very good).

I love anything by Michael Phillips, Tracey Peterson, Judith Pella, Jane Kirkpatrick and Gilbert Morris. They all write historical fiction and they are excellant at what they do.

Don't forget Mary Higgins Clark. I can read hers over and over.

I know how you feel about the library and walking out with a bag of books. It makes me feel so "rich".

I forgot to mention The Healing Quilt by Lauraine Snelling. I read it in October - great book.

I also really enjoyed Hawaiian Sunrise by Lauraine Snelling.

One of the last books I read & couldn't put down was "The Lions Game" by Nelson Demille. I tend to like crime, mystery, suspense type stuff. A few of my favorite authors are:
    Particia Cornwell
    Jeffery Deaver
    John Sandford
    James Patterson
    Dianne Mott Davidson

Oh boy...are you ready for this? I work at a library and I spend a good portion of my time setting aside things I want to read. It's like being an alcoholic in a liquor store! The Grapes of Wrath is my favorite classic novel. I also like Travels With Charley, Jean Auel's works, Jane Kirkpatrick, Janette Oke, Mercedes Lackey (she writes fantasy with STRONG women--mild sexual content), Harry Potter, books put out by House of White Birches (The Good Old Days magazine people), books put out by Reiman publications (Country magazine people), the kid's series called Dear America (diary-type novels written for kids about specific historical times), anything by Bertrice Small (sexual content is, IMHO, R-rated), Lavyrle Spencer's stuff, Stuart Kaminsky's Toby Peters series (he's a private eye in Hollywod during WWII), Elliot Roosevelt's mystery novels about his parents (yep, THOSE two--FDR and Eleanor), many biographies, Marion Chesney's Regency novels...does this help or hinder? MTJSMOM, The Witching Hour is my favorite book too. I first listened to the abridged version on tape and then read the book. I agree it is well written and the detail is fantastic. I liked the sequels to it but they were not as good as the Witching Hour. I do not like her vampire series although my Mother loved that series.

I also like old 1930s and 1940s fiction. Two of my favorites are "Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House" (this was also made into a movie starring Cary Grant and Irene Dunne) and Blanding's Way by Eric Hogkins.

    Blessings,
    Kathy
