It's TWILIGHT day!
I am so excited! I went to Walmart this morning and bought the movie Twilight! Dd(16) and I read the books last summer and loved them. We were so excited when the movie came out and made plans for a mother/daughter day out. We NEVER go to the movies because it's so expensive but I squirreled away a couple of dollars here and there for us to go. We planned to go the weekend it came out at the theaters. Well, a disadvantage of living in podunk is it didn't come to the theaters near here until three weeks after the release! By then all of dd's friends had driven 2+ hours to other towns to see it and her so called best friend told her every detail of the movie. Dd got so upset that she decided it wasn't worth it to pay all the money of going to the theater. So I've had money set aside to buy it for months now.
She's at my parents house this weekend so I'm going to watch it today ( darn it I can NOT wait LOL) and then I will watch it with her tomorrow night!S

Does Twilight follow under the same teenage fascination thing like Harry Potter did?
I never read either one but to see people get so excited about a vampire movie's beyond me.

I've never seen it or read the books. With all the rave reviews, I ended up getting a copy in the mail today from Netflix. I'm getting ready to go watch it.

DD went to see it the weekend it was released. She and her cousins had read the books and LOVED the movie.
We spent a couple of hours at Books-A-Million last night for their Twilight release party. It was pretty fun. Then, at midnight she was able to claim her copy of the movie I pre-purchased for her this week.DD (19)

I thought the movie was great, but it ended too soon LOL. If you haven't read the books you really should before watching the movie. There is so much in the books that they can't put into a short movie. And they just can NOT get the romance into a movie. When you read the books you are drawn into that romance and it's just not possible for them to make you feel it in a movie.
You should read the entire series first, then watch the movie. The next movie is getting ready to be filmed so maybe dd and I can get to the theater to see that one!S

We bought ours at WM yesterday - they had 2 different versions. One just the dvd for like $18 and another for like $25. I bought the one with the add ons.
The book is MUCH MUCH better than the movie but I will still go see and BUY all the others when they are released.

Both of my daughters 13 and 17 hated the movie but loved the books. The most exciting parts in the book was never even in the movie.
