Are leap pad books worth the money? I am thinking of getting it and some books.

I would like t get a Leap Pad for our youngest granddaughter for Christmas. Target had them for a good price but, the books are $15 a pop. Don't the kids get bored when they don't have many books to use with their Leap Pad? Has anyone found books cheaper for the Leap Pad or places you can buy or trade used Leap Pad books?

My dd received this for Christmas last year and loves it! The book that came with the Leap Pad is the only book we've had for the past year. The book has different sections like read along stories, a map of the U.S. where the kids can learn their states (and their capitals and various other information like population), a picture of a skeleton where they can learn the names of all the bones in the body, etc.

It is definitely worth the money. My dd has learned a ton from the book that she has.

I bought another book for my dd for this Christmas (from Toys R Us), but don't really "need" to since she's not bored with this one yet! They are usually $14.99 or so, but with Christmas coming, I'm sure there will be sales for them soon!

If you'd like any more information about the Leap Pad, please feel free to email me.

    HTH!

I saw on television that you can print off story pages for leap pad on the leap pad website. It looked great.
