Does anyone else read true crime?
Ann Rule is my favorite true crime author, but I've read everything she's written. Anyone have recommendations for other true crime writers? Thanks!

I love true crime. *probably not the same reason.* have this odd interest in psychology, *my major in college* i want to know if it is nature or nurture or a combination of both.Any way i am not sure who the author is or the exact title but there is an excellent book out on Jeffrey Dahmer. It is written by the first reporter on the scene. It was so interesting. NO she didn't look in the fridge. but she had some really good insite. *she was there when the cops first went in.*if you want to know the name of the book LMK and i will find out for you.

I just got the new Ann Rule book that is out in paperback, I thought that I might get some reading done over the long weekend, but I am starting to doubt that is going to happen. I started to read one book that was about Dahmer (I used to live about 3 1/2 blocks away from where he lived YECH!) But it really made me ill. Maybe I will get off this computer and get into the Ann Rule book!

I only read Ann Rule's books on true crime, I love her style of writing its like being there......................SO SCARY. Don't you love the movie they made from her book, Small Sacrafices with Farrah?
The Stranger Beside Me, about Ted Bundy was totally freaky that she worked with him. I have seen her on tv, Oprah interviewing Diana Downing..........it was a great thing to see them being snide with each other.
I normally only read Amish, Mennonite or pioneer books, but Ann Rule''s books are great.

Oooh Small Sacrifices is my favorite
The first one I read was The Stranger Beside Me...she does have the best way of writing.
I also liked Fatal Vision by Joe McGinnis (?)....that one was really good too

Tina, what is the title of Ann Rule's new one? Is it one of her true crime books? I know she writes fiction too, but I tend to enjoy the true stuff more (does that make me really sick??)Originally posted by TinCorAl

Michelle-
It is called Every Breath You Take, and it is a true crime novel. I haven't started it yet, but I am sure that it is good.

Michelle, if you liked Fatal Vision then you should check out "Innocent Victims" by Scott Whisnant. It also took place at Fort Bragg and is very similar to the Jeffery McDonald case.Originally posted by Michelle

Plus I graduated from high school with the author - so that makes me a semi-celebrity. Just let me know if you want my autograph...
