The Bachelorette: Running Commentary

That is, it will be a running commentary if anyone, besides me, is watching!

I've never watched this show before, and dh and I needed something easy to watch while we were folding laundry last week. We got suckered in and watched again this week.

At this point, I believe we are hooked.

So, anyone else watching? If so, what are your thoughts so far?

I loved watching Bachelor/Bachelorette when it first started many seasons ago but along the way I've skipped some seasons. I watched the last two seasons where Jake was rejected by Gillian and became the Bachelor last year. During his turn, Ali was one contestant I liked thus me being 'hooked' into watching it this season til she decided to leave. I like her gung-ho tude towards it all, letting everyone know how she feels when she feels it, the no holding back thing - since she's learned from her past experiences. I think a lot of people miss out on love b/c they tend to play the 'typical game' or what is expected vs doing their own thing and just letting the other person know how they feel about them. I hope she's happy at the end of this 'journey'. But I'll be like you and your DH, watching til the end!

PS: I'm glad that Craig from Toronto, ON dude got voted off - what a dink! And I'm still not keen on the weatherman dude - he's creepy!

Yeah, Craig M had to go. SUCH a jerk! But, like you, I'd have gotten rid of the weatherman right along with him. You don't need a ratty, weasly guy like him around.

I think the Bachelorette should be allowed to have secret spy cams in the bachelor house so that she could see how they behave when she isn't around.

Some things about Ali rub me the wrong way, (I didn't watch the Bachelor, so I didn't see her on there), but the one thing I like about her is that she's pretty darn real. She had a zit on her chin last night and her body isn't supermodel skinny when she was wearing her bikini. She's the most normal girl I've seen on tv in awhile. I like that.

I don't want to call her 'wholesome' but she's pretty down to earth which makes me like that about her too.

I'm still undecided about the wrestler guy (broken foot, also from Toronto, ON if I'm not mistaken) but the other Craig guy - lawyer from Philly(?) he totally rubs me the wrong way...I hope he goes soon...he's a pot stirrer as well. I think the guy from Cape Cod (Chris L?) won't be her 'mate' at the end of this but will be the next Bachelor.
