Do you take your kids to the newest movies or do you
Wait until they are are on video and you can rent it or better yet, wait until it comes on tv and watch it together.
We usually wait until it comes on tv. Once in awhile, we'll rent a video just because.
You?

it depends on the movie, we did go to Santa Clause 2 and Harry Potter when they came out. But it is pretty rare, we usually rent them.

If it is something that I want to see, too (like Harry Potter) then we go to the theater. Otherwise we wait for it to come to video. We rent lots of videos.

When our kids were younger we would generally preview them first. There is nothing worse than starting a movie then having to leave because of inapropriate content. We would take them to the discount movie joints fairly regularly. We had a $1.00 theater near us and would go there when the films were done with their first runs. Much cheaper and you get the theater experience. I like the popcorn and smells of the theater. The big screen and the sound system is a big plus for a good movie.

I LOVE to go to movies, but my children don't want to go with ME anymore - they prefer to go with their friends. So, they do that and I often go alone. I don't wait for video if there is something I really want to see...for example, Maid in Manhatten comes out tomorrow and I may just go spend the afternoon at the movies...would love to see Santa Claus 2.

We usually wait for it to come out on video, But we did go see the first Harry Potter because of all the hype. We saw Spirit shortly after that. But thise were the last 2 movies we saw at the "real"theatre (meaning expensive one)
We have a theatre that only charges $2.50 to get in, but it takes them about a month to get the movies. I don't mind waiting, but its hard for the kids to wait, because all their friends have already seen it at the "expensive" theatre

We only go if it's something we want to see in the theater. I would have liked to see MIB2, but we never made it. Rented it a few weeks ago. My boys are teens and can take themselves if they want now.

We get videos and dvd's from the library all the time. Every now and then I will treat ds to a movie at the dollar theater (they show movies after they have run at the regular theaters but before they are released on dvd and video).

Rent! Sometimes hubby will take the kids to a movie on the weekends when I work! Not to often though, because of the expense!

I took dd to see The Santa Clause 2, it was her first movie in a theater. She loved it. We try to be careful about what movies we let them watch and have been known to screen rentals.

We go to the cheap movies, 4 times a year. They have the movies that were out 6 months before...so we saw Harry Potter and Spiderman, after everyone.
Mostle, we watch movies on tv and occasionally rent a movie when nothing good is on tv.
