Default TV SHOW: "Livin' For The Apocalypse"

    "Livin' For The Apocalypse"
Livin' for the Apocalypse Videos : Videos : TLC

Has anyone seen this documentary? I was flipping past TLC and this show popped on. I thought it was a joke show but its real. Its about four people preparing for the supposed apocalypse of 2012.

Not sure if this thread should be under leisure or prep & survival - this show is unreal!

TLC has turned into the 'Its such horrible programming yet I can't change the channel and I MUST watch!' channel for me. Some of its programming and specials truly are interesting and then the other half seems 'freakshow'ish' for lack of a better term. DH calls TLC the 'trainwreck channel'

At what point did we stop learning from this channel??

This show did showcase 'prepared' families which actually interesting to see how they prepped. The one family that turned their pool into its own eco system was actually pretty smart and interesting to watch. The family with the two teen girls, the 19 y/o pageant daughter just wanted make up, computers, internet and her cell phone for when she had to be in their bunker What the???

The only family I felt worth listening to was the one who turned the pool into a living eco system. Otherwise it was like watching a train wreck. The last two "roommates" were just odd and I fear they are going to poison themselves with that canned meat. It looked disgusting and I'm not even sure it was safely canned.

ok when is this on? think i want to watch it. my son has a zombie kit.I am not kidding canned food, sleeping bag, tent, guns ammo, and an ax. Read book awhile back about an astroid hitting the moon and the aftermath. very scary book. Anyway it made me really think.

I watched it, and while I think basically 3 of the 4 were pretty reasonable (the Survival Doc, pool family, Mom with the grown kids) the last couple made us worried, very very worried. As my gun-loving husband pointed out, in the shooting range scene, they were NOT handling/shooting the guns properly at ALL...not good. And then there's the 'canned meat' we all worry over.... Interesting show, while some take it to the extreme (as always on TLC) a good nudge to some of us to be better prepared.

These "reality" shows are scripted so don't believe everything you see or hear on there. They tell people what to say and to go over the top for ratings. They redo shots and crap. Yea, very realistic, uh huh.

Won't be watching... it's along the lines of Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, Survivor, Big Brother......( Survival Doc was interesting. My father got me interested in silver and gold back in high school. He would collect coins and store them in old tobacco tins. Always ahead in the game , he was. Thanks Pop!)
