Question What are your reading plans for the month of January?

Do you have any books lined up for January?

    - I'm ordering Extreme Simplicity for sure.

    - I've got a new one by Jane Kirkpatrick called A Name of Her Own.

    - Angel of Mercy by Tracy Peterson

I'm also looking into seeing if I can find more books on homesteading or simple living.

    Thats it so far.

Whats on your reading list for January, 2003!!

I'm planning on reading the second book in the quilting series by Jennifer Chiaverini. Also, I'm finishing up "Girl with a Pearl Earring", and I have a stack of magazines that piled up while I was working on xmas projects.

    It's by Cheryl Mendelsen
Here is a good description on amazon:
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/068481465X/104-1803185-8607957?vi=glance"]Amazon.com: Home Comforts : The Art and Science of Keeping House (9780684814650): Cheryl Mendelson: Books[/ame]

It's a large book and a good reference book. There are some really interesting parts to it. It's packed with housekeeping info. Like setting a proper table and linens as an example. I agree with the review that states that the book isn't for everyone. It's based on a very traditional viewpoint. This isn't an exciting type of read though. There are 57 sample pages on amazon to read, so you can really get a grasp if it would be interesting to you.

I am reading 'Marriage Shock' and just finished ' The Bit** in the house'. Both books were on Oprah and they about what happens to women when they become "wives".

I got "Homeland" from John Jakes (the guy who wrote "North and South") for Christmas. The book has about 1200 pages, but I am looking forward reading it. It is about a boy who is born in Berlin, Germany in 1890 and immigrates to the USA in the beginning of the 20s century. The story of him, his children and grandchildren show how the immigrants lived and how their children became real American. Again it is a family saga, which I really love!!

Maybe you are interested in reading more about the books I have read in the past. On my homepage I have a section called "books" where I review and recommend the books I have read recently. Just for those who look for a good one!
