Too large the bookshelf was
When I asked dh to make me something, he never hesitates and always does it within days. I wanted a bookshelf for our foyer upstairs and so he decided to purchase some lumber.
Our friends own the hardware store and he and dh decided to build the bookshelf there. When he brought it home, he said he hoped we could get it up the stairs.
Well, he couldn't and so now I have a wonderful bookcase in my living room, filled with all my books and a few ornaments and a couple of plans. My living room has now been made into a living room/library and what a cosy feeling to all be in there at night, reading.

Wow! One of my dreams is to someday own a home with a library in it. Since THAT will never happen, I would love to have a home where there are built-in bookshelves in one of the rooms. I don't care which room, (okay, preferably not the bathroom), but just a room.

Ooh Amy, I love the idea of a library too. I hate to get rid of books when I'm done reading them, but I don't like the clutter look of them either (I've filled up both of my bookcases already).
I think bookcases add a homey touch to a house.

I need a new one. I don't think DH is the one to make it though. He has a hard time thinking up plans on building.

Our first house had a library in it. Now, our books are just spread out all over the house! I need more bookcases though. CJ does your husband deliver all the way to Oregon?
