I have never seen the original and I wasn't born when this happened, but I did watch Disneys remake of this movie last night. I thought it was okay. Not the best sad true story movie I have ever seen, but definatly not the worst.

I really wanted to know what happened to Brian's family after he died. I read that his wife remarried. I just wanted to see what life was like for her immediatly after Brians death. I also wanted to know how his girls reacted, etc. I also would have liked it if they said what happened to the rest of the people in the movie. Like I said I read that Joy, Brain's wife, remarried, but they didn't say that on the movie. I also want to know what happened to Gayle and his wife in the years following. Heck, I even would be interested in knowing what happened to the coach after Brain's death. I just wanted more.

Has anyone seen the original? Is it better, worse or about the same as the remake. I am not sure I could watch Billy Dee Willaims portray Gayle Sayers (sp) with a staight face, but I might give it a try.
