There is still one more step above where they moved us today. Living outside of NYC, we've been at level orange since 9/11/01 anyway. The country has been raised to orange quite a few times since 9/11/01 and so far, everything has been thwarted or wasn't really a threat to begin with. I wouldn't worry too much. I think that the gov't just wants to make sure that they tell us EVERYTHING now, so that they are never again accused of keeping things from us. A little silly, if you ask me because it just makes people worry more.

Heard this this morningon the tv. It does scare me. I just think they have to know something we don't know if they have increased the risk.

It worries me. I'm a critical care RN and was working on 9/11/01 I work 2 blocks from the state capital building and not much farther from the Lincoln sites.

All are considered high on the list of possible targets in this threat.

It's a wacky world we're living in. I so wish that the kids of today had my childhood, hardly a care in the world.
Yes, I'm concerned but hoping we rid the world of those who wish to rob us of the freedom to live our lives without fear.

Okay, I live near (less than 10 miles) a nuclear power plant...if anything happens to it, bah-bye! I try to console myself that Canada isn't that much of target, but it doesn't help much!

I try not to think about it. I am stuck right in the middle of President Bush's Crawford ranch....30 minutes away from me and on the other side is Ft. Hood, one of the largest military base.....30 minutes away from me. I hate being in the middle. I just hope they never try to harm his Crawford ranch because it will effect us too.

Yes, I am concerned. I live in an area that could have a lot of targets - Cape Canaveral, Kennedy Space Center, air force base, air force test range, port, and all the attractions in Orlando are not far away. I have gotten preparations underway.

We live right outside of the capital of California. I'm just worried about my DGD's. This entire situation is really bothering me. I agree with Carolyn though, the only thing we can do is put it into God's hands.

I live in the Washington DC area and it's really nerve-wracking. I got to thinking the other day, how is this all going to turn out? Will things ever get back to "normal"? Will we ever see peace in our lifetime? This is not normally how I live my life. I try not to dwell on the negative and instead just try and prepare for an emergency if needed.

I remember the 9/11 attacks and my husband works right next to the White House, and I am pleased to tell you all that I sprung right into action, got my kids out of school, gassed up, got $$ and gathered up food, medicines, blankets and water, and met up with my husband at the metro station and we all came home together, safe, to see what our next step would be. Fortunately we were able to stay in our home and the rest of the story you all know.

I found out during that time that cell phones were useless, and pretty much so was the land-line phone system, so having a plan that everyone knows how to follow is a must.

If you've read this far, thanks! I've never written about that before and it's really therapeutic to get it out. It makes me so sad to think about the effect this is having on us all, especially our children. They should not have to think about awful things like attacks on their homes.

I am concerned about it, but as Carolyn said, I am putting it in the Lord's hands.
