Samual is distant toward Emma Why is he so uncomfortable?

Emma takes them to church, which might have been enjoyable until Hazel started in, was it right for Hazel to butt in again.

Sending their son to school was that a good thing?

Some of the people were so supportive, the potatos for instant, Are people now generally like this. why or why not?

How is Julia acting toward Sam now do you think it has changed since the beginning?

Samual is very distant toward most of the people is it because he doesn't feel like he is good enough for them? Is he ashamed of something?

Samuel feels distant towards Emma. Why is he so uncomfortable I think because she reminds him daily of his failure to provide for his family has he said he would. I also think he might be frightened of Julia staying put, not matter what he wants. In some ways, I also think she is a constant reminder of his failures.

Emma takes them to church, which might have been enjoyable until Hazel steps in. Was it right for her to do so No is wasn't, but there is always someone who wants to put their nose in others business, no matter where it is.

Some of the people were so supportive. Are people generally like that now I didn't see that when I lived in the city, but I sure have seen it out in the country. I wonder though what it would be like if it was now, there was a depression and loss of jobs as in the days of the book. Hmmmmm do you think there would be the support that some gave in the book?

How is Julia acting towards Sam now? Do you think it has changed from the beginning I think Julia remains pretty disillutioned with Sam until right at the end, and even then I'm not sure her feelings have truly changed. I think she is still the independant, fiesty woman that she was from the beginning and had he said he was going to leave again, I'm sure she would have said "GO".

Samuel is very distant towards most of the people. Is it because he doesn't feel he is good enough for them? Is he ashamed of something I think he is ashamed of not doing enough to make a go on his own. I don't think he feels he isn't good enough for them. I think he is ashamed of taking from Emma just like the neighbour has!!
