Pearl Harbor
I got this for my dh for Christmas and we watched it last night. First of all, DVD's rock! I am sooo impressed with our dvd player.
I thought this movie was really good, but kinda long. The special effects were very good, IMO, but I am not a special effect expert. When the Japanese Planes flew over Hawaii on there way to the harbor was done very well. Its hard to explain, but it was really cool. It was not as graphic as "Saving Private Ryan", which is good. I could not have watched another movie like that. All and all it was good for a "guy" action flick.
Anyone else seen this?

Over all, it was a good movie, but I thought it was kinda like Titanic- Everyone knows what happens in the end, so they have to embellish the movie by entwining a love story into it.
As for the actual movie(not the lovestory part), it was good. I learned things I did not know before (my dh was in the navy, so he was able to explain the "why do they do that", like they now send ships on pointless 6 month cruises so they won't be sitting targets at the Navy base).
I got dh a DVD player for X-mas, and this will probably be a movie I'll eventually buy

My great-uncle died on the USS Arizona, I have no desire to see the Pearl Harbor movie. The thought of how those servicemen died makes me ill.
On 11-22-85 I married the man of my dreams.
On 01-13-89 I gave birth to the love of my life.

I liked the movie to!! I don't like seeing where the bodies would fly all over the place after getting hit,but the movie in general was a well put together movie.
I also agree that DVD's are AWESOME!! Mine was FREE from www.startsampling.com with 10,000 miles
We've had it over a year and we love it!!! The sound effects are so cool!!

I got this DVD in the mail yesterdy. I have it on my "to do" list when husband has to work some night. He is not a movie watcher, so I get to watch movies and eat cheesecake if he has to work a few extra hours on a weekend

It was long but I really liked it. I also learned alot that I didn't either think about or just didn't know about. I am such a sap too, I had to fight back tears quite a few times.
