Families loosing loved ones from war
Tonight I was watching NBC nightly news and they had some interviews with some familiy members who lost their sons or loved one from the helicopter crash. My heart completely goes out to those families and I can't imagine being in their shoes. But my heart goes out more to the dad who was showing a picture of his son and asking Pres Bush to take a look at that picture...it was his only son. I know that man is devestated!! I am really going to pray for him (along with all the others) because I feel he thinks that it's Pres Bush's fault that his son was killed. Even though the man is grieving - it's not any one persons fault. His son voluntered to serve this great country. His son died defending us and all we believe. I pray this man can one day have some comfort that his son died a proud man and many respect that. I know it may take a lifetime for this father to find some sort of understanding but I hope he can find some peace. It just really broke my heart.
Then I was watching and they showed the Navy SEALS over in Kuwait. It was weird seeing people I know and seeing guys that Malcom works with. (I know I wrote earlier telling we shouldn't say certain things...Malcom knows I'm saying this..it's ok). I was proud but then in a spilt second I just got a sick feeling knowing that if they wanted - they could take Malcom and it could have been him I saw on TV tonight. Most likely, it won't happen and he won't go. But I know with his job I could get a phone call that says they need him now. You try not to think about it but you know that is the reality of it all.
I guess I'm rambling on and on. I'm also crying...I guess I've watched too much of the news and it's getting too me. Don't worry...I've put on the Food TV and HGTV so hopefully they won't show any war scenes right now
. I swear I'm a really strong person, I'm not trying to brag but all of us have to in this "lifestyle" we live in. It just gets so hard sometimes and it's lonely. I just come here to get it all out and I feel better!!!! Thanks! I promise no more sappy and sad posts for awhile. I swear I really need to stop watching the war scenes on the news!!!

Big hug Daphne. It's all very overwhelming and rightly so. We are all in this together in one way or another & all of us will help the bunch of us get through the tough times.

Daphne,
ITA, reality can hit one of us at any second.
I am only watching 5 minutes bits here and there as it gets to be too much for me.

I can understand the anger, it is for most part of the grieving process...... I hope they all can overcome the overwhelming hurt that they must feel...... I hope Malcom stays home safe with you, and I hope they all come home very soon.......... {{{HUGS}}}

I'm sure Malcom will be able to stay home with me. I just needed to have a little pity party for myself. My prayers are really focused on the men and women over there. Please Lord, bring them home!!!!

My heart breaks for all the families that have lost loved ones with this war..there grief would be hard to deal with. I pray for them that God may grant them some peace...I also believe that they gave there life in the service of others...and will be rewarded with our Lord for there ultimate sacrafice.
I will also be honest in opening up to tell you as a mother to a serviceman...I do not want my son to come home to me in a box, but I would have some small measure of peace that he would have died in honor and in the service of his fellow men...than to lose him in some senceless way....
We as parents are to "go" before our children and the pain of that kind of a loss is unbearable... Once we give birth to them we change, we become over protective, want to take away any kind of pain they may have...and have such a deep intense love for them that is different than what weve known before. I hope we all can take a few minutes to pray for all the families who have lost someone.

My heart and prayers go out to everyone with family members and friends in the military. I grieve for the families that have lost loved ones. My brother was a Navy Seal during Desert Storm and I had friends with family members there or who were also there themselves. I prayed for their safety then and will continue to pray for safety for our family and friends who are involved this time. We're currently waiting to hear if a cousin and a friend will be called up. The cousin just returned from training for this mission, so we know it could just be a matter of time.

Hi Daphne,
No, he's not anymore. His job had taken it's toll on his body and on his emotions. He decided not to re-up. He's been out for about 4 years now I think.

Malcom has been in it now for 6+ years. I wonder if they knew each other at one time.
