Julia and Emma Help with the birth of the baby next door. what did you think of the way Julia acted.
Samual seems to be doing more with the neighbors expecally when he fixed the fence, what did you think of the way the neighbor repaid him.
DID you think that Sam could have actually made the wheelchair.
Did the relationships in the book change do you think.
What about when the nephew came, Do you think he really should have listened before he started in on them.
Over all what were your thougths on the book.

Julia and Emma help with the birth of the baby next door. What do you think of the way Julia acted I'm not sure, she probably could have acted in a more civil manner. But she did finally put her feelings aside in order to help with the birth. I admire anyone who can do that.
Samuel seems to be doing more to help with the neighbours. What do you think of the way the neighbour repaid him Ummm the neighbour was a jerk!! If I remember right, he repaid him by giving him something of Emmas' although he didn't have much of his own to give did he.
Did you think that Sam could actually make the wheelchair Yes I did think he could make it, I wasn't sure if he would stick to making it[/b]
Did the relationships in the book change do you think Ummm I'm not sure. Sam still wasn't completely changed I don't think. The neighbours certainly changed though. Emma didn't, she was the same kind, thoughtful and compassionate person right to the end of the book. Also, Julia's love for Samuel never wavered throughout the whole book. She did get very frustrated at times and threatened to stay, even if Sam left, but she never stopped loving her man.
What about when the nephew came, do you think he should have listened before he started anything Well remember the era of the book, I think he was legitimate in being concerned for Emma. Many people could have been taking advantage of her, just because of what her disposition was like (the neigbours certainly were). He had also heard from the town gossip - that was probably where his error was in listening to her!!!
Overall what were your thoughts on the book, would you read it again It was another great read, one in which really renewed my faith in mankind. Emma touched me deeply and it was great to read about someone such as her in a book, to know that giving brings such joy. I actually knew that, but had kinda let it lie dormant for a number of years, but because of this book having started looking at more opportunities to give.
Would I read it again - I seldom read fiction books the second time around. So no probably not. I re-read non-fiction books several times and often more times than that. Its not because I didn't like the book, thats just my make-up. Books like this I can almost remember the whole book so to go back and re-read it probably won't ever happen.
Thanks Heaven for doing the bookclubs. The questions have been very thought provoking and you've done a wonderful job. Can hardly wait now for Alice's Tulips.
