What books have you read and seen the movie?
What books have you read and seen the movie version of?
I have seen quite a few Stephen King movies and read the books.
I did see Flowers In The Attic and read the books too. The movie was not as good by far.
I have read a lot of books that were movies too, but these are a couple off the top of my head.

My favorite book is James and the Giant Peach. I love the book, didnt care for the movie. The horse wisperer was another. My friend flicka (a real classic here) I have seen several of tom clancys novels done to movies. Again, I prefer the books. When I read, Im lucky enough to have a movie play in my head. And to see it on screen shatters my myth.

Books & Movies
I also saw the movie, "James and the Giant Peach" but did not read the book. I enjoyed the movie. I saw the movie "The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne" starring Maggie Smith, then a few years later came across the book (Brian Moore is the author) and promptly read that. The film was faithful in most respects to the book, but the writers of the screenplay did take some license and do things a bit differently. Still good.

John Grisham's "The Client"
The book was great.. portraying the boy as a typical 12 or so year old who had a few rough edges.
The movie protrayed him as a juvenile delinquent. I disliked the change in the character.
Besides that the movie was good and followed the plot of the book

We just saw Harry Potter and I can honestly say that it's not as good as the book. I found the movie to be vastly entertaining but a lot of the richness and depth of the story was left out. My oldest son, andrew, said the same thing. We told him that if everything had been included, the movie would have been nine hours long!

I read the books myself and enjoyed them a lot. I haven't seen the movie yet though. I do think the boy playing Harry Potter is adorable.Originally posted by Lori Biever-Launder

One of my favorite books is "Relic" By Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. It is a very good horror story and I just love it. They made one of the worst movies I have ever seen out of that book. I was so disappointed!

Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil. The movie didn't even come close to being as wonderful as the book.

A book and movie by Sydney Sheldon, I think it was called If Tomorrow Comes, about a woman who is framed and put into prison and then escapes and gets revenge(I think she becomes a jewel thief). It was awesome, I loved it, both the book and the movie.
