Exclamation BOOK REVIEW - The Busy Mom's Guide to Simple Living

The Busy Mom's Guide to Simple Living by Jackie Wellwood is my number one book on simple living.

This book offers creative ideas to making the most of what you have. She became a SAHM while their family was living on a very low income. She gives wonderful tips and ideas how to survive on little money and how to be content in doing so.

A quote from her introduction states:

Good Homemaking skills don't just happen, they are learned - most often on the job. As busy moms we need instruction to facilitate a successful blending of the many responsibilities that make up our days.
Her book does just that. She helps us learn and gives wonderful instruction, not pushy or knows it all, but in a fashion that comes from her own experiences.

This book was printed in 1997 so it might be a hard one to get, but you can probably get a library to bring one in. The ISBN1-56865-485-5 in case you might want to order it.

This is so cool that you posted this today! I am re-reading the book for the umpteenth time again. It's one of my all time favorites and my copy is dog earred from so much use. I got to talk to Jackie (the author) on a call in show years ago shortly after the book came out. She is so down to earth and just a sweetheart! I also have her 2 devotional books for homeschool moms and am making my way through the 2nd one for the 3rd time. I always recommend her books to all my homechooling friends. BTW, it was after reading her book and talking to her that we decided to homeschool also. It just helped to push us along that path and make us more open to the whole idea. Here is a link to her 2 devotional books

Debbie, my book probably looks the same as your book. I talked to her as well when I wanted to know if she had written any other books. I just called her and we had a lovely chat.

I also have the devotional for hs.

I too always recommend this book to anyone wanting a good read on simple living.

Its interesting because it was her book that really changed my lifestyle and brought me to where I am today.
