Book Review: Life 101 (a little long...sorry)
Has anyone ever read:
LIFE 101: Everything We Wish We Had Learned In School - But Didn't
It is by Peter McWilliams.
I forgot all about this book until the other day when I was looking for something else to read. We had to read it my Sr. year of HS for extra credit in a World Studies class (that would be "slack off Social Studies for Sr. who don't want to work to hard there Sr. year....and they wonder why the guy that taught it always got voted teacher of the year by the Senior Class...lol
Anyway it is a great book and eventhough it is over 500 pages (index included) it is such an easy read. Besides the print is fairly large and almost every even numbered page is nothing but a quote.
Here is the intro:
If you see it out, I would suggest buying it or checking it out at the library. It really is wonderful.What if life were perfect? What if you lived in a perfect world of perfect people and perfect possessions, with everyone and everything doing the perfect thing at the perfect time? What if you had everything you wanted and only what you wanted, exactly as you wanted, when you wanted it? What if, after luxuriating in this perfect world for the perfect length of time, you started feeling uneasy about the predictability of perfection?.......What if you walked over, considered all that might be contained in the concept of "surprise," decided, "Anything's better than boredom," took a deep breath, pushed the button, and found yourself where you are right now-feeling what you're feeling now, thinking what you are thinking now, with everything in you life the way it is now, reading this book.

Thanks for the review. Its one that I've always wanted to read and have heard lots about, but just never got around to reading it. I'm going to put it on my book list.

I'll keep my eyes open for this. I'm hitting the bookstore and library this weekend.

Thanks for the review. This sounds like a really nice Christmas gift for Dave. It sounds like just his type of book. Oh, and I'll be sure to read it after him (or maybe before I even give it to him
)
