Post What movies were disturbing to you?

I usually am very selective on movies that I watch, but occasionally one will sneak in and completely bother me.
I don't do well with violent movies at all. I can handle action, but I hate when a movie makes my heart start beating really fast, causes tension, or completely upsets me.

When thinking of movies like this, I think of Pulp Fiction. What are movies that disturbed you?

    The Devil's Advocate...(shiver)

My DH has it on DVD and loves to watch it. When he puts it on, I go find something else to do!

The other one that disturbed me was the Exorcist (another shiver!)

Can't sit through either one of these movies.

I try to avoid horror type movies, although I watch Action/Adventure (with my eyes closed though the blood and guts parts).

I like Science Fiction, so tried to watch "Ghosts of Mars" the other night.. very gory movie. not much of a plut.. too much blood and violence.

have never watched Pulp Fiction, Exorcist or The Devil's Advocate

I actually enjoy horror movies, if I am in the right mood.

    I dislike violent movies.

A good movie that I had a really hard time watching was "Saving Privet Ryan". I will NOT be watching that one again.

I can't watch the Exorcist either. It gives me nightmares. Another movie that upset me was The Green Mile. I love horror movies but, not those slasher movies. I can't stand to watch cruelty to animals or people. I like science fiction. Not into blood and guts movies. I think one of the worst movies I have ever seen, for the blood and guts type, was Dusk To Dawn. That was really gross!

I don't mind the blood and guts stuff too much. DH kinda made me immune to it, since his favorite type movies are gangster and war movies. I do agree with you that Dusk to Dawn was a bad movie, but because of the ending. To me, it started out okay, then the part where they got to Mexico to that bar...yuck.. Stupid, really. JMHO.

Movies like Dusk to Dawn don't bother me -I guess I view them as fantasy--Now the Omen-the original-that still freaks me out-it's too "real". I don't like the whole suffering aspect of movies-if someone gets shot and falls down dead I'm ok with it, but watching someone get beat up or tortured (Rambo) I can't stand.

I don't do well with movies that deal with ghosts, paranormal, etc. So, the Exorcist, The Omen, The Believers, etc were very disturbing to me.

I don't care to watch any kind of movie with violence in them. It's like some people just seem to thrive on these kinds of movies though. Sometimes I think that because of movies like this, this is why crime has skyrocketed over the decades. What do you think? Lynn

I hated Silence of the Lambs, it gave me the heebie jeebies, and I did not even try to watch any of the sequels. Yucko! People doing such terrible things to other people really bother me. I hate to see anything like that.

I hate movies like Steel Magnolias, Autumn in New York, and terms of Endearment. They were painful for me

The Siege, with Annette Benning and Denzel Washington. It's a good movie, but I didn't like the way it made me feel.

I also don't like blunt instrument death scenes.. grosses me out.
