    Smile E.T. Phone Home...again??

I just read that in celebration of its 20th anniversary, E.T. will be re-released in the movie theaters in March of this year. Am I the last to know? Will you go see it? My kids saw it for the first time at my parents' house when we visited them for Thanksgiving. They are really looking forward to seeing it in the theater.

I probably will not be seeing it in the theatre. My Husband does not like to go to the movies, so the re-release will be skipping me. No kids to use as an excuse

My children just watched E.T. for the first time last night and really enjoyed it. Drew Barrymore is adorable in the movie. I don't think we will go see it in the theater....since we own it on video.

    Wasn't it written by Harrison Ford's x-wife?

    Wonderful movie!

I was just awe-stricken as a kid when I saw ET at the theater. I'm going to take my 2 ds's (ages 6 and 8) when it is released. I'm hoping they'll find it as impressive as I did. Probably not very likely since special effects are so much better nowadays and they've seen it all!

Does anyone know what year ET was released? I can't remember how old I was when I saw it and I love to tell my kids stories about when I was growing up in the "olden days" and how old I was when things happened.

We own the movie as well, so we won't be going to the theater. Did you know that they edited out the guns that the Federal Agents had and made them into walkie-talkies in the re-release? I though that was interesting.

I loved ET as a kid. I doubt we'll see it in the theater though.

We have the video, but have never watched it. I saw it when it first came out. Don't know if we'll go to the theater so the boys can see it. Too many other movies coming out.

DD who is 4 wants to see it.After dh and I telling her that we saw it when we were little. My dad has a copy so I will probably ask him for it and pay for the postage which will be much cheaper than the theater, plus I will pop some popcorn, get some gummy bears at the dollar store. So this is how she will see it.
