Oprah today!!
I don't usually watch TV during the day but was so glad I sat down to Oprah: it was all on how to be a millionaire, at first I thought, yeah right but it's so true!!

He was excellent, so many of the tips we already know here at the Village!!
He spoke of paying yourself first. Automatically have money come out of your account for you. Track spending. The show has given me some reinforcement in my plans and spending.
Editing to add: He speaks of the latte factor which is the "little" things we spend our money on and it sure is an eye opener as so many of us here are finding out as we track our money.

I just finished watching it and he was great.
He also talking about having a dream account so that you can go on a vacation, but not right away. You save a specific amount each day until you have enough to pay cash for your trip. He talked about our always wanting instant gratification.
He also talked about breaking down into small amounts - keep track of how much we spend each day.
Very interesting show. Glad I watched it.

I taped the show, I've just bought his (David Bach) newest book--The Automatic Millionaire and I've read Smart Couples Finish Rich. I like his books, easy to read and understand. I'll be watching the show a little later tonite.

I wish I had seen it, but what you've all mentioned is so true. I am trying to approach our tracking just like I do with my weightloss and it's so true about the small stuff all adding up.

Thank You Oprah. I came home shocked to see dh watching Oprah but he was so interested in what this guy was saying. I have been having so much trouble getting through to dh that we can have the big things (vacations, the occasional new piece of furniture, a nice savings account etc.) if we quit blowing it on the small stuff. He is totally open to tracking our expenses now! This is such a HUGE breakthrough with him. I am going to watch on ebay for his books.

I am glad I saw this one. I told DH after the show that once he is able to up his 401K account again, that he needs too. He will be able to adjust it at the end of the year. I would love to retire and live confortably.

i saw it. it was good. we are going to switch to a bi-weekly mortgage payment, switch our internet service to a cheaper one, lower our cell-phone package, and up hubby's 401K.
if what he says is true, i wanna be a millionaire too.
