John Grisham fans, which is your favourite book?
I'm finally getting around to reading him, but I don't know which book to start on, he has lots. Over the years several friends say, oh you'd like his writing, you should read him.
I'm going to do it, but which one to start on?
What is your personal favourite and why?

Oops, I haven't read any of those. But I want to. I liked his first one (A time to Kill) Couldn't put it down once I started it. I need to buy or borrow more of his. I haven't read any of them since The Chamber.
I have heard a lot of great things about "The Rainmaker" though.

I haven't read JG for several years now, but I absolutely loved "The Testament" I read it in a few days time (okay, I was on modified bedrest, but still....it was a good book!!) I read "The Partner", too, but now I can't remember anything about it.

I think The Pelican Brief was by him, i loved that, and I also loved The Client.
Right now I have The Brethen, but I haven't been able to get into it like I used to...
Oh I also liked A Time To Kill...

Am I the only one who found A Time to Kill too depressing for words?!
I loved The Client and The Pelican Brief

I love all of his books. My favorite is "The Testament". It was a story about a lawyer who goes to the Jungle in South America to find a heiress, who has become a missionary and doesn't care about the money.
John Grisham is a Southern Baptist and in this book, I think his personal Faith comes through. It's not preachy, though.
My second favorite book is 'The Street Lawyer", followed by "The Chamber", it made me reconsider my feelings on the death penalty.
I can't wait to read his latest, "The Last Juror".

WOW thanks ladies, I can hardly wait. I think I'll start with the Testament and I appreciate that link Kathryn. I hate getting into a book and finding it depressing or painful. (enough of that with real life LOL)
It helps to have some idea what the book covers. (I'm bad, I usually check the ending and if it's really heart rendingly sad I won't even start the book)
Never seems to stop me from enjoying the books I do choose to read fortunately.

I think you're really going to like The Testament, Margery!

If we don't see you here for a while, we'll know you're reading it! LOL!

I loved The Firm (the movie was good too) Pelican Brief (these books have continuing characters if I remember right but the movies changed that part)
The Testament is also excellent!
I love JG's descriptive writing!
