Question Once started a book, will you read it to completion?

Even if you don't like it or can't find yourself getting into it after the first few pages or even the first chapter?

I usually do. But most of the time the book will pick up or someting will happen in it and I HAVE to see what happens next. There has only been one book that I have not finished and that was because I did not agree with the ethics(?) of it.

nope. If I get bored or don't like it, I will leave it and go on to other things.

I generally read the last few pages first before even getting a book out of the library to make sure I'm not going to be bugged by it. I hate sad or horrifying endings or existentialism or nihilism in my reading.

Then if the ending is nice, and I like the jacket blurb I will take the book out and deeply enjoy how the author weaves his or her way to teh conclusion.

I still have Alice's Tulips here. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. I couldn't get past the first few pages. Everyone has different likes and dislikes. If I don't like a book, I'll set it aside and try it again another time.

If I can't get into a book I won't finish it. I usually try to read at least a few chapters though because sometimes it might just have a slow or boring beginning and pick up later. Mind you some books I won't read past the first two pages.

No, if it doesn't grab me, it doesn't get read. To me reading is something I do for relaxation and enjoyment, it shouldn't be a chore.

If I don't like a book, I will not finish it unless it's one assigned for a class or something that I am forced to read. Life is too short to waste time on things that do not enrich my life!

I agree, I give it a fair go to see if it picks up but if not, that's it! I too read for pleasure and I can't see the sense in battling through something that doesn't hold my interest!
